Let's start by taking a look at some stars and their Oscar dates. We saw husbands, wives, moms and managers. Check out these dynamic duos .

Javier Bardem showed up with wife Penelope Cruz in hand. The couple have rarely been seen photographed together since giving birth to a son in January. Cruz is seen here in a figure-flattering red L'Wren Scott dress.

Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves looked elegant in black. Note to Matthew: don't step on your wife's beautiful Kaufman Franco gown.

Russell Brand left the wife and brought his mother out for a glamorous night. Mrs. Brand kept her son on his best behavior.

And of course we must acknowledge the bromance of 2011. Colin Firth was a big winner. His pal and "The King's Speech" co-star Geoffrey Rush was by his side enjoying the night.

Celine Dion got a sitter for the twins and took her husband out for a date night that didn't disappoint. Here Dion is seen in an Armani Privé gown with her husband Rene Angelil.

And now for the highlights, we have the Hollywood starlets. Who was your favorite look of the night?

Hailee Steinfeld was a favorite for Best Supporting Actress. Although she didn't win the Oscar, she did win rave reviews in her age-appropriate Marchesa gown.

Another L'Wren Scott stand-out was Amy Adams in a sequined midnight blue number with emerald Cartier jewels. Adams lost out best supporting actress to...

...fellow "Fighter" co-star Melissa Leo. Here is Leo in a Marc Bouwer gown that got mixed reviews.

Presenter Halle Berry wowed the crowd in her Marchesa gown.

Presenter Sandra Bullock was most likely glad to celebrate a drama-less Oscars in this Vera Wang gown. Paired with under-stated jewelry, she topped best-dressed lists all over the blogosphere.

Singer Florence Welch of Florence and the Machines hit the carpet in this Valentino Couture gown before taking the stage during the ceremony to perform the nominated song "If I Rise" from the film "127 Hours."

Jennifer Hudson didn't shy away from color--or a plunging neckline--in this Atelier Versace gown. She presented her new svelte body, then presented an award during the ceremony.

Scarlett Johansson showed up with a mystery man who turned out to be her manager, Joe Machota. She turned heads in a lacy Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Performing a nominated song from her movie "Country Strong," Paltrow began the night in a Calvin Klein Collection silver metallic gown. The Oscar watching from behind no doubt approves.

Nominated for her role in "Winter's Bone," Jennifer Lawrence also showed up in a Calvin Klein Collection gown. If Paltrow was channeling Joan of Arc, Lawrence was definitely thinking of a buxom Farrah Fawcett.

Presenter Hilary Swank also shined in a silver toned Gucci Premiere Couture gown.

Mila Kunis, nominated for her role in "Black Swan" also topped the lists with this lavender Elie Saab Haute Couture gown.

And finally, the night's big winner was Natalie Portman, who took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in "Black Swan." Here she is in a figure-flattering Rodarte gown (Rodarte also designed the tutus for the film).
